You may not believe it, green screen is going away. You can now shoot keyed images anywhere, don’t have to worry about colors or lighting, and it is possible to insert moving graphics in front, behind, and around objects!
Depth Keying works by identifying objects by their location and shape. This can be done using multiple cameras with different view angles (vector keying) or light detection and ranging (LIDAR).
Either of these processes convert an area into a 3D map. Once the information is in a 3d map, you can select objects to be in the display and anything else can be replaced. This allows you to key images anywhere – inside or outside.
Depth keying also allows you to insert graphics anywhere. In front, behind, and even spinning around objects.
